Sarah M. Taylor
Sarah M. Taylor is the Executive Director for Startup Moxie Elkhart County. She is responsible for the recruitment of students, mentors, and guest speakers, curriculum development, lesson planning events, and daily class activities for students enrolled in the program; serves as the chief fundraiser. Sarah graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with bachelor's degrees in Sociology and African American and African Diaspora Studies in 2009. After graduation she returned home to continue pouring into the students of the South Bend Community School Corporation in various capacities including:
- Four years as the JAG Specialist at Riley High School, where she (and her "classmily") created a Nationally, Regionally, and Locally award-winning program, whilst maintaining a 100% graduation and post-grad placement rate.
- Five years as a Title I Family and Community School Engagement Specialist to over 600 students and their families, providing learning resources/workshops, building community partnerships, and programming.
- 10 years (and still currently) coaching the Washington High School Cheerleading Squad.
Sarah completed her Master of Science Degree in Leadership at Trine University in May 2019.
Sarah is very passionate about education, entrepreneurship, and working with students, especially high schoolers, and she's very active in the Greater South Bend community and plans to be even more active in Elkhart County having recently joined the Kiwanis Club!
